Terms and conditions for instructors using Coordinated to run their business

Welcome to Coordinated

By using Coordinated as an instructor, you agree to these Instructor Terms of Service ("Instructor Terms"). These terms govern your use of Coordinated's platform to manage your instruction business, including scheduling, payments, student management, and marketing pages.

As an instructor on Coordinated, you are an independent business owner. You control your pricing, schedule, policies, and how you run your business. Coordinated provides the platform and tools to help you succeed.

1. Account and Eligibility

1.1 Account Creation

To use Coordinated as an instructor, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You agree to:

  • Be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete account information
  • Maintain and update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

1.2 Business Information

You must provide and maintain accurate business information including your legal name, business address, tax identification number, and banking information for payments.

1.3 Verification

We may require you to verify your identity and business information. Failure to provide requested verification may result in account suspension or termination.

2. Instructor Responsibilities

2.1 Service Quality

As an instructor, you are solely responsible for:

  • The quality, safety, and legality of your instruction services
  • Delivering sessions as scheduled or providing appropriate notice for cancellations
  • Maintaining necessary certifications, licenses, and insurance
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Managing your relationship with students and customers

2.2 Public Profile and Marketing

You may create custom marketing pages and a public profile. You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring all content is accurate, truthful, and not misleading
  • Owning rights to all photos, videos, and content you upload
  • Not infringing on any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Maintaining professional and appropriate content

2.3 Student Data and Privacy

You must handle student data responsibly and in compliance with applicable privacy laws. You agree to:

  • Only use student data for legitimate business purposes
  • Not sell or share student data with third parties without consent
  • Maintain appropriate security measures
  • Comply with data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

2.4 Policies and Terms

You must clearly display your own policies on your marketing pages, including:

  • Cancellation and rescheduling policies
  • Refund policies
  • Late arrival policies
  • Code of conduct expectations
  • Liability waivers (where applicable)

3. Payments and Financials

3.1 Platform Fees

Coordinated charges a platform fee for facilitating your business operations. Current pricing is available on our Pricing page. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days notice.

3.2 Payment Processing

All payments from students are processed through Coordinated's integrated payment system. Funds are transferred to your designated bank account according to your payout schedule (typically within 2-7 business days).

3.3 Refunds and Chargebacks

You are responsible for handling refunds according to your stated refund policy. In case of chargebacks or disputes, you may be required to provide documentation. Coordinated may withhold funds or deduct amounts from future payouts to cover chargebacks and associated fees.

3.4 Taxes

You are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting all applicable taxes related to your business. Coordinated provides transaction records but does not provide tax advice. Consult a tax professional for guidance.

4. Scheduling and Operations

4.1 Schedule Management

You maintain full control over your schedule. You agree to keep your availability accurate and honor bookings made through the platform according to your stated policies.

4.2 Cancellations

If you need to cancel a session, you must provide notice according to your cancellation policy. Excessive cancellations may result in account review or restrictions.

4.3 Multi-Location Support

If you operate at multiple locations, you are responsible for maintaining accurate location information and ensuring you can fulfill sessions at the specified locations.

5. Component Marketplace

5.1 Using Marketplace Components

You may use components from the Coordinated Marketplace to enhance your marketing pages. Each component has its own license terms which you must comply with.

5.2 Creating and Selling Components

If you create and sell components in the marketplace, you must also comply with ourMarketplace Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create and upload (photos, videos, descriptions, etc.). By uploading content, you grant Coordinated a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content as necessary to provide the platform services.

6.2 Platform Content

Coordinated and its licensors own all rights to the platform software, design, and features. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works.

6.3 Trademarks

You may use the "Powered by Coordinated" badge on your marketing materials. You may not use Coordinated trademarks in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation beyond the platform relationship.

7. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose
  • Impersonate others or provide false information
  • Harass, abuse, or harm students or other users
  • Attempt to circumvent platform fees by completing transactions off-platform
  • Use the platform to promote competitors
  • Scrape or collect user data without authorization
  • Interfere with platform security or functionality
  • Violate our Acceptable Use Policy

8. Liability and Insurance

8.1 Your Liability

You are solely responsible for your instruction activities and any injuries, damages, or issues that arise. Coordinated is a platform provider and is not liable for your business operations.

8.2 Insurance Requirements

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage (liability, professional liability, property, etc.) for your business. We may require proof of insurance for certain activities.

8.3 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Coordinated harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your instruction services, or your violation of these terms.

9. Account Suspension and Termination

9.1 Your Right to Terminate

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. You remain responsible for any outstanding obligations, fees, or scheduled sessions.

9.2 Our Right to Suspend or Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these terms or our policies
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Pose a risk to students or other users
  • Have excessive chargebacks or payment issues
  • Provide false or misleading information

9.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your access to the platform will be revoked. You will receive any outstanding funds owed (minus fees, chargebacks, or amounts owed to Coordinated). Your marketing pages will be taken offline.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COORDINATED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE, ERROR-FREE OPERATION, OR ANY PARTICULAR RESULTS.

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

11.2 Arbitration

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with [Arbitration Rules]. You waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
